Practical Golden Retriever Tools
Plan preparations, keep observations or convert an existing food allowance—without creating an account. Guide search covers 68 articles, not tool pages.
Choose a task
-
Interactive puppy checklist
Turn homecoming preparations into a tickable list, see your progress and print a working copy. The direct PDF remains available.
- What you need
- Your own preparations and next steps to tick off.
- What it does not do
- A planning aid, not a veterinary care or vaccination schedule.
- Saving and requests
- Ticks stay in page memory unless you opt into device saving. A previously saved choice can restore on a later visit.
-
Observation-only weight journal
Record dated measurements in pounds or kilograms, retain the original readings and bring a table or CSV to a veterinary conversation.
- What you need
- Dates and weights you have actually measured.
- What it does not do
- No adult-weight prediction, target weight, normal range or diagnosis. Your vet interprets the observations.
- Saving and requests
- Entries stay in page memory unless you opt into device saving. CSV export and printing happen when you choose them.
-
Food-label portion converter
Translate an existing daily calorie allowance for one food into cups or grams using that exact product’s energy label.
- What you need
- A food-specific daily kcal allowance from your vet or package plan, plus that label’s kcal/cup or kcal/kg.
- What it does not do
- Arithmetic only: it does not choose calorie needs, infer grams per cup, select a diet or split a mixed-food plan.
- Saving and requests
- Inputs and results are not saved or submitted by the converter.
-
Dog name ideas and shortlist
Browse editorial name ideas by theme or initial, draw a small batch and keep the favorites you want to consider.
- What you need
- Choose a theme and/or initial, then select ideas you like.
- What it does not do
- Ideas, not popularity rankings, meanings, origins or gender rules. A later draw can revisit a name.
- Saving and requests
- Favorites stay in page memory unless you opt into device saving. Copying is a separate, explicit action.
-
Guide search
Find words across the full text of our guides and follow results to the relevant article. Tool pages are not in this index.
- What you need
- A word or phrase to look for in the guides.
- What it does not do
- Search finds reading material; it does not interpret symptoms or provide medical advice.
- Saving and requests
- Downloads a guide index and matches words in your browser. The search code does not put your words in a request or URL.
Before you start
Do I need an account or email address?
No. These tools can be used without an account, email address or subscription.
What is saved on my device?
The checklist, weight journal and name shortlist use page memory unless you opt into device saving. A previously saved opt-in may restore when you return in the same browser profile on the same device. Converter inputs and search words are not saved by those tools. Local saving is not cloud sync or a backup; other people using your browser profile may see it. If storage is blocked or full, follow the tool’s warning: changes may not be saved, and an older saved copy may return.
How do local inputs differ from web requests?
The tool code processes checklist ticks, journal entries, converter inputs, name choices and guide-search words in your browser; it does not submit those values. Loading pages, scripts and the search index still sends ordinary web requests to our hosting provider. You choose whether to copy a shortlist, export a journal or print a record.
Can these tools choose a healthy weight or feeding allowance?
No. The journal records measurements without predicting adult size or judging a normal range. The portion converter requires an existing food-specific daily kcal allowance and the product’s own energy label; it does not select that allowance or a diet. Ask your veterinarian about health, growth and feeding decisions.
Looking for context first? Browse all guides. These tools organize information or perform arithmetic; they are not a substitute for advice from your veterinarian.
